Shipwreck Island: Where GOD PROVIDES!

Thank you so much to all of you who waited up (patiently) last night for me to announce where I would be serving at my first ever CentriKid camp this summer.  My heart is so full of excitement, joy, and eagerness to serve the Lord every hour of ever single day this summer.  I know a lot of you are praying for me and all the great things God is going to do through these camps this year, and I appreciate it so much.  Last night my group (CKOne) got to "meet" each other on Facebook and I can tell that we are going to have the summer of our lives serving along side one another.

If you haven't heard already, I would love to give you more details on our locations!
Lee University (Cleveland, TN) - June 6-16
Ridgecrest Conference Center (Ridgecrest, NC) - June 18-26
Campbell University (Buies Creek, NC) - June 28-July 2
Shocco Springs Conference Center (Talladega, Alabama) - July 4-10
Norman Park Conference Center (Tifton, GA) - July 11-29

Yes, we're going to ALL of those locations (some only last a week or two)!  We will be meeting in Nashville and all riding to each location together on 15-passenger vans.  I'm actually really excited about this part, because I know that it's going to be a crazy part of team and friendship building.  I am so ready to really meet these beautiful people of CKOne and constantly grow into a deeper friendship with them.

SHIPWRECK ISLAND is where God provides this summer at CentriKid camps.  We will look into how God provided throughout Paul's life as we focus on the key verse "And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:19).  We want a lot of things in life, even if we don't really know what they are.  We can trust that God will take care of our needs through everything that Jesus did for us on the cross.  Different themes through out the week are God Provides Forgiveness, God Provides Calling, God Provides Enough, and God Provides Thru Me.

If you didn't already know, my duties during camp will be leading a bible study group, leading their recreation activities, teaching track times (basketball, arts and crafts, etc.), and fulfilling other typical roles of a camp staffer like creating a safe, clean and Christ-like environment for campers.

Missions are always a big part of camp.  Every week, campers will have the time to pray about our special missions and dedicate money towards a missions offering.  This year, we will continue our support of missions in Canada as they plant churches and begin/continue youth and college ministries.  Also, we will introduce our new mission emphasis on Africa.  For Africa missions, our prayers and support will go towards feeding the hungry, ministering to orphans, giving to the IMB "Hands On" program for college studies, and even help to prevent and treat malaria.  I am so excited about how God is going to use the kids at camp to spread His love throughout the world.  I pray that they realize that God can use them as He provides for others.

Sorry that this blog post was so long, but I'm really excited about what God has in store for this summer. I hope that you are at least a little more familiar with camp (it's never as good from the outside looking in!) and that you are excited, too!  If you are one of my prayer partners, I am so thankful for your kind words and prayers along this crazy journey to prepare for camp.  Here are some more things that you can pray about if you need a little help ;):

  • All the CK teams (especially CK1 ;)
  • For all these locations to be protected by the hands of God, as well as camper and staff safe travel.
  • Preparations of bible studies, rec, and track times.  We're about to get started on digging deeper and deeper into preparing our bible studies for each day.  Pray that God reveals what He wants us to teach.
  • Missions
  • The Lord's Will to be done and leave a lasting impression on each camper's heart.
Thank you so much for staying in touch with these camp updates.  I am so thankful for such beautiful people who have supported me the whole way this far.  God has provided for me through you!  I hope you realize how much I appreciate your prayers.  Hope to post more soon (I could talk forever).

Just So You know

Currently Playing:  Your Grace is Enough - Chris Tomlin

Today I am overflowing with excitement!  Tonight is the night that I find out where I will be serving at CentriKid this summer.  Ever since I've encountered the amazing things God does at Fuge camps, I have always wanted to be on staff.  It's crazy to think I am actually doing it!  I hope you can join me tonight in this really cool and special time.  I will announce the location and other cool information tonight around 9pm (I find out at 8) here on my blog.  If you have me on Facebook, I will post the link when it's up.  If you want to be one of the first to get the inside scoop, you'll have to read my post ;).  I would love for you to be a partner in prayer with me.  Don't be scared to leave comments ;).

Also, I am still taking lots and lots of corsage orders.  I announced earlier that if you order before Spring Break (March 19), that you can get yours for only $20, originally $25.  You can't find a better deal than that.  If you don't have your dress, you can still send in your payment to lock in the special price.  After the 19th, I would be glad to make your corsage, it will just be at the original low price.

Check out my past posts for information about either of these topics!  I hope you'll join me back here tonight as I reveal the exciting information!

Thought of the Day

It is safe to say that I am the only 19-year-old college kid who opens up Yahoo every morning and afternoon to check emails and skim over the news (even the financial tab).  Yesterday, I was even listening to talk radio.  I very quickly had a serious discussion with myself about what I could do instead to prove, or at least convince, that I do have a life and that I really am a fun person.  But this morning when I started looking over the main topics on Yahoo, I couldn't help but to click on a headline about Bible changes.  Here's a link to the article:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20110302/us_nm/us_religion_bible

So I'm not sure how I feel about this.  Don't get me wrong, I am all about making the Bible more understandable.  There is no way I could make it through a King James Version without a headache.  But at the same time, I hope that we're not trying to change it too much.  I think I just felt an earthquake.  Anyways, the part I most disagree with the changing "virgin" to "the young woman" (par. 8).  I think that's one of the most important parts of Jesus' birth.  God made the impossible happen, a virgin gave birth to Jesus.  There is no way that could ever happen; never has, never will.  It's just one of those things in the Bible that is totally and completely God.

For all the rest of the words, I haven't decided.  I believe that the Bible is God's Word and the instruction for our lives, and I want everyone to be able to easily understand it and apply it to their lives.  I understand that times change and eventually we don't even know what some of those older words mean.  Society is way crazy these days.  If we try to fit everything in to current times, nothing will mean anything, surely not the way God meant for it to be.  Remember, I'm not insisting that this is wrong or that I'm right.  In fact, I'm undecided.  It's up to you to make your own decision based on your own faith.  I just hope that we remember to let the Bible change us, not us change the Bible.

Prom Prom Prom

Classy or cute, chose your style for an accessory on your night to remember.
Prom is only a month away!  By now I'm sure you're all picking out the perfect dress, and I'm seeing lots of lovely ladies posting pretty pics!  Don't forget to order a corsage to add a totally unique and totally cute touch to top of your prom look.

If you order BEFORE SPRING BREAK (March 19-27), you get $5 off your corsage.  That means it's only $20, and it can't get any better than that.

I will be delivering to Rivercrest, Manila, and all other surrounding schools APRIL 8th and that weekend if necessary.  I will be in Milan, TN APRIL 28th and the next day to deliver also.  If you are not in these areas, I would still love to create a special corsage for you.  Shipping is only $11 and I need to know as soon as possible, so that I can get yours there in plenty of time.  I will try my best to save you the shipping, so get in touch with me to see if we can work something out.

If you have a date or you're just a guy wanting to match his girl, order a boutonniere for only $10.

I need your payment in advance, so if you could mail it, that would be great!  Mail to:

***Please go back a blog or two and read things you might need to know about these corsages!***

Watch and Learn

So tonight I was really needing some uplifting and encouragement.  I have so much studying to do for a bone practical tomorrow, which I've been working on for days and days.  To top it all off, my dog is sick!  :(  I know that God is going to comfort me while my precious puppy is at the vet overnight without his momma, but I HAD to have something to cheer me up.  Of course, I hit up YouTube and found some great videos to share with you to get you a little more acquainted with CentriKid, where I will have the awesome privilege to staff this summer.  Today I had to list my clothing sizes for the official staff clothing, and if you've been to camp, you'd know how awesome that is!  I am more than excited, and I hope you get the chance to watch these videos I have posted.  Remember that some are silly and goofy, but hey, there for 4th graders.  Ha!  Enjoy!

A Summer Place

If you haven't already heard my screams of happiness from here by now, I have officially been offered and have accepted a position at Centrikid this summer!  It is the most excited thing in the history of life.  I applied in September, but was notified that I was put on the "waiting list" a couple of months ago.  The waiting list basically means that they like you, but they have no place for you now, so maybe plan on going to the lake and shopping and doing nothing worthwhile for the rest of your summer.  Thankfully God had something to say about that.

If you've never heard of Fuge camps, you're definitely missing out.  While I have never been to Centrikid, I have been a long-time lover of Fuge since seventh grade.  Check out the website for Centrikid here:

http://www.centrikid.com

I will serve on staff as a "team leader."  This means that I will lead a bible study group, their recreation, track time activities (arts and crafts, cheerleading, basketball, etc.), as well as play hostess to a church group each week.  I am so excited to get to meet all these amazing, crazy kids this summer.  One of the things I look forward to the most is to watch some of them fall in love with Jesus Christ for the very first time, as well as others fall even deeper.  I can't wait to watch lives make this crazy, complete 180 that is just the defining moment of life.  When kids are on fire for Jesus, it can really blow your mind.  It's one of the most humbling and amazing things to experience, knowing that God's love is so huge, so powerful, so weird and crazy at times, yet even a child can understand that no one loves them like He does.

Not only will their lives be changed and challenged forever, but so will mine.  I have already started praying for each and every child that is in my bible study or track time.  But I would appreciate your help, too!  Here are some things that you can pray for:

  • Safety to, during, and from camp
  • Each and every heart to be softened and eager to listen for the Lord
  • Everything running as smooth as possible, thanks to the awesome Camp Directors
  • Speakers and Worship Leaders
  • Staff! ;)
  • Bible studies: that they all support each other in the short week that they get to know each other  May they remember this summer for the rest of their lives.
  • God's work to be fulfilled and His Glorious Name to be lifted up
Thanks so much for all your support so far.  I appreciate your many prayers and kind words along the way.  Whatever you do, remember that God is always faithful.  I don't know about you, but there are some feelings, like the feeling I had when I first read the Centrikid email tonight, that can never be found anywhere else.  There is no greater love.

1 DAY ONLY CORSAGE SALE!

Order your corsage TOMORROW (February 24, 2011) and get it for only $20!  You can't beat that price anywhere else.

All of my items must be paid in full in order for you to receive them, so I understand that you will have to send your money by mail.  As long as the mail is post-marked on tomorrow's date, you still can get the corsage for only $20!  The mailing address is as follows:

Molly McAfee
UCA Box #5916
201 Donaghey Ave
Conway, AR 72035

I will make arrangements to deliver your corsages the best way I can.  However, if you would like it sooner or it cannot be delivered, I will be happy to ship it to you.  The cost does NOT include shipping, so be prepared to pay the flat rate shipping fee of $11.00.

Don't have your dress picked out yet?  No sweat!  I can hold your payment until you know exactly what colors you want, then I can start on your corsage.  Oh, and don't forget your date!  Match his boutonniere with your corsage for only $10.

Things to Know:

  • I will use artificial flowers unless you request otherwise.  Please keep in mind that artificial flowers will make your corsage an even better keepsake item and will hold up better throughout the night.  If you have to wear it more than once, it will also benefit you.  Also, I spend a set amount of money on the total cost of the corsage, and the cost of the flower could take away from the other details.  If you would like to discuss it, I am more than happy to talk about adding a real flower, and I am just as excited to do it.
  • Corsages can be as whacky or elegant as you wish.  You decide!
  • Corsages should arrive in their own plastic box.  Bouts will arrive with a pin to attach to the lapel.

Coming Soon to the Shop!

Be an early bloomer this spring by checking back frequently for new spring products!  The Spring 2011 lines are exciting, including prom corsages, jewelry, and fresh new ideas.

Prom corsages are a perfect keepsake to make the night even more memorable.  Order a custom, one-of-a-kind corsage to match your dress AND make a dazzling statement.  Don't forget your date with a matching boutonniere.  The corsages can be as simple or as outgoing as you wish.  Corsages do not have to be done with flowers, but if you would like any flowers or greenery, I will automatically use silk or an artificial kind.  However, if you would like to add real flowers, we can always work something out!

I am just as excited to present new jewelry products, including wire-wrapped pearl rings and peas-in-a-pod pendants.  Wait till you see them!

If you plan on a spring home makeover, order cute patterned letters or other room accessories like personalized canvases.  Suggest bright, bold colors for a spunky girl's room or warm colors for family rooms.

As always, I am more than happy to create anything you may dream up yourself.  Let me know if you see something or need a particular item and I'll get back to you on pricing.  Odds are, it'll be even cheaper than retail stores ;).

Keep checking back for photos and samples!

The only person I wish to be seriously injured.

If you had the pleasure of reading the below post today, you'll see the bold words that I unfortunately wasn't humorous enough to come up with myself.  My new BFF, <xxOnLiNePrEdAtOrxx>, decided to hack into ALL my email, facebook, and blog to tell me how much he loved me.  I know it's a he, because only fat guys sitting in front of the computer in a dark room with Cheeto Puff fingers typing away on their orange crumbly keyboard would have time to make that up.  However, if you are not fat, I apologize.  I do not apologize about the Cheeto's, because who doesn't like those?  Anyways, if you're still wondering if it's really me, it is, I promise.  If you received ANY email, message, or comment from me today, it was NOT me, because I did not do any of that.  I was freaked out for the afternoon, but that's all turned to anger.  So, Online Predator, have a nice day sitting alone in your Mom's basement.  See you never.

The First One

It has taken me decades and nachos to finally come up with an official blog.  After three hours in the federal prison debating on the website, two nights of insomnia, five name changes, four hot dogs, two serious discussions with myself in the dark, the confusing creation of the header on my own, and the last-minute purchase of a beach ball, I am so excited that you are finally reading the finished product. Other than this blog, you'll find different tabs at the top, leading to different pages that I hope you'll discover.

I already know that some people won't understand it, because it's the same reason I write maps and books full of pretty words just to be put on the Christmas tree.  But this time, my words are for me to bring the pain.  I am so in love with you if you are keeping up with what I'm saying.  I'm not as complicated.  And I'm not a waffle maker or anything as fun as that.  I would love to be there with you.  If you want to be my friend, all you have to do is shout
