Shipwreck Island: Where GOD PROVIDES!

Thank you so much to all of you who waited up (patiently) last night for me to announce where I would be serving at my first ever CentriKid camp this summer.  My heart is so full of excitement, joy, and eagerness to serve the Lord every hour of ever single day this summer.  I know a lot of you are praying for me and all the great things God is going to do through these camps this year, and I appreciate it so much.  Last night my group (CKOne) got to "meet" each other on Facebook and I can tell that we are going to have the summer of our lives serving along side one another.

If you haven't heard already, I would love to give you more details on our locations!
Lee University (Cleveland, TN) - June 6-16
Ridgecrest Conference Center (Ridgecrest, NC) - June 18-26
Campbell University (Buies Creek, NC) - June 28-July 2
Shocco Springs Conference Center (Talladega, Alabama) - July 4-10
Norman Park Conference Center (Tifton, GA) - July 11-29

Yes, we're going to ALL of those locations (some only last a week or two)!  We will be meeting in Nashville and all riding to each location together on 15-passenger vans.  I'm actually really excited about this part, because I know that it's going to be a crazy part of team and friendship building.  I am so ready to really meet these beautiful people of CKOne and constantly grow into a deeper friendship with them.

SHIPWRECK ISLAND is where God provides this summer at CentriKid camps.  We will look into how God provided throughout Paul's life as we focus on the key verse "And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:19).  We want a lot of things in life, even if we don't really know what they are.  We can trust that God will take care of our needs through everything that Jesus did for us on the cross.  Different themes through out the week are God Provides Forgiveness, God Provides Calling, God Provides Enough, and God Provides Thru Me.

If you didn't already know, my duties during camp will be leading a bible study group, leading their recreation activities, teaching track times (basketball, arts and crafts, etc.), and fulfilling other typical roles of a camp staffer like creating a safe, clean and Christ-like environment for campers.

Missions are always a big part of camp.  Every week, campers will have the time to pray about our special missions and dedicate money towards a missions offering.  This year, we will continue our support of missions in Canada as they plant churches and begin/continue youth and college ministries.  Also, we will introduce our new mission emphasis on Africa.  For Africa missions, our prayers and support will go towards feeding the hungry, ministering to orphans, giving to the IMB "Hands On" program for college studies, and even help to prevent and treat malaria.  I am so excited about how God is going to use the kids at camp to spread His love throughout the world.  I pray that they realize that God can use them as He provides for others.

Sorry that this blog post was so long, but I'm really excited about what God has in store for this summer. I hope that you are at least a little more familiar with camp (it's never as good from the outside looking in!) and that you are excited, too!  If you are one of my prayer partners, I am so thankful for your kind words and prayers along this crazy journey to prepare for camp.  Here are some more things that you can pray about if you need a little help ;):

  • All the CK teams (especially CK1 ;)
  • For all these locations to be protected by the hands of God, as well as camper and staff safe travel.
  • Preparations of bible studies, rec, and track times.  We're about to get started on digging deeper and deeper into preparing our bible studies for each day.  Pray that God reveals what He wants us to teach.
  • Missions
  • The Lord's Will to be done and leave a lasting impression on each camper's heart.
Thank you so much for staying in touch with these camp updates.  I am so thankful for such beautiful people who have supported me the whole way this far.  God has provided for me through you!  I hope you realize how much I appreciate your prayers.  Hope to post more soon (I could talk forever).

Just So You know

Currently Playing:  Your Grace is Enough - Chris Tomlin

Today I am overflowing with excitement!  Tonight is the night that I find out where I will be serving at CentriKid this summer.  Ever since I've encountered the amazing things God does at Fuge camps, I have always wanted to be on staff.  It's crazy to think I am actually doing it!  I hope you can join me tonight in this really cool and special time.  I will announce the location and other cool information tonight around 9pm (I find out at 8) here on my blog.  If you have me on Facebook, I will post the link when it's up.  If you want to be one of the first to get the inside scoop, you'll have to read my post ;).  I would love for you to be a partner in prayer with me.  Don't be scared to leave comments ;).

Also, I am still taking lots and lots of corsage orders.  I announced earlier that if you order before Spring Break (March 19), that you can get yours for only $20, originally $25.  You can't find a better deal than that.  If you don't have your dress, you can still send in your payment to lock in the special price.  After the 19th, I would be glad to make your corsage, it will just be at the original low price.

Check out my past posts for information about either of these topics!  I hope you'll join me back here tonight as I reveal the exciting information!

Thought of the Day

It is safe to say that I am the only 19-year-old college kid who opens up Yahoo every morning and afternoon to check emails and skim over the news (even the financial tab).  Yesterday, I was even listening to talk radio.  I very quickly had a serious discussion with myself about what I could do instead to prove, or at least convince, that I do have a life and that I really am a fun person.  But this morning when I started looking over the main topics on Yahoo, I couldn't help but to click on a headline about Bible changes.  Here's a link to the article:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20110302/us_nm/us_religion_bible

So I'm not sure how I feel about this.  Don't get me wrong, I am all about making the Bible more understandable.  There is no way I could make it through a King James Version without a headache.  But at the same time, I hope that we're not trying to change it too much.  I think I just felt an earthquake.  Anyways, the part I most disagree with the changing "virgin" to "the young woman" (par. 8).  I think that's one of the most important parts of Jesus' birth.  God made the impossible happen, a virgin gave birth to Jesus.  There is no way that could ever happen; never has, never will.  It's just one of those things in the Bible that is totally and completely God.

For all the rest of the words, I haven't decided.  I believe that the Bible is God's Word and the instruction for our lives, and I want everyone to be able to easily understand it and apply it to their lives.  I understand that times change and eventually we don't even know what some of those older words mean.  Society is way crazy these days.  If we try to fit everything in to current times, nothing will mean anything, surely not the way God meant for it to be.  Remember, I'm not insisting that this is wrong or that I'm right.  In fact, I'm undecided.  It's up to you to make your own decision based on your own faith.  I just hope that we remember to let the Bible change us, not us change the Bible.

Prom Prom Prom

Classy or cute, chose your style for an accessory on your night to remember.
Prom is only a month away!  By now I'm sure you're all picking out the perfect dress, and I'm seeing lots of lovely ladies posting pretty pics!  Don't forget to order a corsage to add a totally unique and totally cute touch to top of your prom look.

If you order BEFORE SPRING BREAK (March 19-27), you get $5 off your corsage.  That means it's only $20, and it can't get any better than that.

I will be delivering to Rivercrest, Manila, and all other surrounding schools APRIL 8th and that weekend if necessary.  I will be in Milan, TN APRIL 28th and the next day to deliver also.  If you are not in these areas, I would still love to create a special corsage for you.  Shipping is only $11 and I need to know as soon as possible, so that I can get yours there in plenty of time.  I will try my best to save you the shipping, so get in touch with me to see if we can work something out.

If you have a date or you're just a guy wanting to match his girl, order a boutonniere for only $10.

I need your payment in advance, so if you could mail it, that would be great!  Mail to:
